To ensure a smooth and quick process, please follow these guidelines before your appointment.
What to Bring
- Clean Hands: Please wash your hands before you arrive. Any lotions, dirt, or oils on your fingertips can interfere with the scanning process and may require you to be rescanned.
- Completed Application: Bring your completed Live Scan application form. Please bring two forms of application in case a resubmission is needed. The agent will not have extra copies for you to fill out.
- Valid Photo ID: Please bring a valid form of government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport. For a list of acceptable forms of ID, click here.
- Exact Payment: Please bring the exact amount of cash for your payment. Agents do not carry change. You can also pay with a credit card.
- Certifix Account Holders: If you have a Certifix account, please bring a copy of your token or your billing account details. This will streamline your check-in process.
Appointment Guidelines
- Be on Time: Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. This ensures we can serve you promptly and stay on schedule for other appointments.
- Cancellations and Rescheduling: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact your agent at least two hours before your appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to another applicant.
After Your Appointment
- Keep Your Form: Make sure to keep a copy of your Live Scan form with the Applicant Tracking Identifier (ATI) number noted for your records.
- Check Status: The ATI number allows you to check the status of your fingerprints online at the California Department of Justice website: https://applicantstatus.doj.ca.gov/.
